The Clients by Design course helps coaches and consultants learn a reliable approach to enrolling new clients in a way that is honest, ethical, relational and builds trust.

Over 10 weeks, you will learn:

  • the five key conversations of client enrolment, so you can identify where a client is and what needs to happen next

  • how to quickly build trust, regardless of your current reputation, qualifications or experience

  • how to think like a designer in order to create more value for you and your client, with your client

Regardless of your current ability in this area, you will learn how to fine tune your listening and what to pay attention to when with new and potential clients. As a result, you will leave with an approach that helps you: 

  • effectively engage clients, without being salesy, pushy or manipulative

  • feel confident having conversations with new clients

  • approach new, more senior and higher value clients

  • quickly build trust regardless of your skill, credentials or experience

  • set value-based pricing that you and your clients feel good about

As a participant in the course, you’ll receive the following:

  • Ten, 90 minute sessions, including

What’s the approach?

The material in this course blends two powerful discourses.

The first is Human Centered Design, a methodology used to identify meaningful client challenges and creatively solve complex problems. It's been used to create and innovate services across organisations large and small, in both the corporate and not for profit sectors.

Sometimes referred to as Design Thinking, the approach focuses on human needs and offers a reliable way to design with clients, not for them through a series of simple interventions. It guides practitioners to understand and respond to the needs of specific people, question assumptions and reframe problems, and experiment to advance their solutions

The second discourse is the Ontological approach, which sees conversations as a domain for design. Developed through global research over the last 60 years, it has been used to produce leadership and organisational transformations around the world.  As a result, it’s not readily accessible or affordable.

The combination of these two discourses, combined with the interpretations of Generative Leadership offer a robust framework for human interaction and communication that helps you better understand other people and how to work with them, whether in person or online.
